I just got a pair of these to try out. Anyone have any experience with them?? On what applications and how did they work??
My plans are to use them as main pair for a choir primarly and secondarly wherever they do the job. From within 2 miles of Jim Croce's last gig and end. |

Good choice! Excellent mics. Use them on whatever - acoustic gtr, piano, drum OH's, amps. Great SDC's.
If you're using them as a stereo pair, try an ORTF array instead of XY. Dan Richards Digital Pro Sound The Listening Sessions |

I owned a pair for a while. They were always a good choice. Solid, well-behaved mics and the sound never got in the way of other tracks. Definitely has the Gefell sound (well, at least it sounds similar to the 930). I sold them to get an AEA R84. I don't do stereo that much right now and the R84 worked better for my applications That being said I wouldn't hesitate a second to pick up a pair again. (I do tend to buy and sell a lot).
Nice score. Jason A. |

Thanks for the answers. I did not want to post for a couple of days thinking I may have drawn other opinions. I've been told that they sound kind of between the old KM84 and the present KM184. (I have no experience with either of these reputable mics so I can not say that here.)
thanks again From within 2 miles of Jim Croce's last gig and end. |
