Does anyone know if there is an official amount of lead silence prior to the audio in a WAV file that you burn to a master CD? I typically create 16 bit WAVs and use Roxio EZ CD Creator to burn the master CD. Seems like if I edit too close to the audio without leaving a fraction of a second of silence then the beginning of the song will sometimes clip on certain CD players. Is this just a trial and error thing or is there an industry standard space to leave prior to audio? Feel free to suggest ANY way that I can improve on this part of the process. I know there are some ultra-priced dither programs and outboard master recorders but have not studied up on them that much. My clients have never seemed to care but I always want to get better. Thanks!
