I've been using an MP-2 for about 1 1/2 years and loving it. Of my few good pres, its the one that I get most excited about. Now A-Designs comes out with the MP-2A. More headroom - good for ribbons. 20db switch - thank you, just after I order some line pads. Color switches. Color switches!!! What the hell is this?
Anybody touched, heard, dreamed of, smelt or felt the new MP-2A? I have got to know more about this baby. If only I knew 1/10th. |

I have an MP-1A which is amazing. The color switches can tweak the sound of the mic pre with a little bit of impedance and filter trickery. Its pretty cool. I have only had it a short while so time will tell which way I end up using it the most, but I do love the damn thing.
