My new Mac update to itunes has deleted the choice for mp3.
They now use a format called AAC. Bonxo music sites etc... do not use this format. Any solutions for posting with this new format? Thanks -jim ____________ |

My iTunes is up to date and MP3 is still a choice. You might want to try reloading the program.

Either you're looking in the wrong place, or you need to re-install. All versions of iTunes allow you to select between MP3, AAC, AIFF, Apple Lossless & WAV.
Try this - launch iTunes, go to Preferences ( < Apple > <,> is the shortcut), click the 'Advanced' tab, then click 'Importing' - you should see all the file formats listed above. If not, you're screwed!! (Just kidding, but if not, you need to re-install iTunes) Scott |

Mine's up to date and it didn't change my preference for 192kbs mp3.
...do you have any other software that has an mp3 codec? It IS possible they eliminated it from their software, but will put it there if there's anotehr codec on the machine...? I know Cubase4 has one--so, it could be keying off that. Like Windows Media Player--same deal. For the longest time, it wouldn't allow mp3 unless you already had a codec installed... |
