I've got the original T buckers in my Les Paul, really Smokey tone, I get fired up every time I plug that guitar in. This is my favorite humbucker sound.

My Hamer Studio has the Duncan 59's, they're quite different from the T buckers, the 59's are brighter and more articulate, with a sharper edge.

I also have the Jackson Active buckers with coil tap in my Charvel Model 5 shredder guitar, they have their own thing going on, never heard another bucker like them. Really wild and touch sensative, what they lack compared to the others is tone, but tone isn't really important when one is shredding Slap2

OK! I left the guitar at the shop with 490/498 set to be installed, which will pretty much replicate silverburst custom before I have money to actually buy one & then will switch bridge to 490 on this one.

Edit: it's ready & sounds incredible! I really dig Gibson pickups! Really leaning towards 57 set in the other guitar now.

Now I have 2 LPs with 59/JB on them one with 10s the other 12s. I guess I can live with just having one.

Right now I have
EMG 81/81
SD 59/JB
SD 59/JB
G 490/498
Burstbuckers
SD Jazz/59

Is it worth to put a set of 57s in one of them?

Does anyone know if Burstbucker Pros are any improvement over Bursbuckers?

So?

I've just got another LP Cobra, I want to switch the bridge pickup.
So far my favorites are 498T, Classic 57 & JB.

I have a feeling they are something in Bareknuckle format, which are very popular too, but I don't like them.

I pretty much need the bridge puckup sound distorted. Wouldn't mind to hear neck cleans too though. Smile

Have you tried the Alnico II Duncans?

I've had my Les Paul custom for 30 years now and tried the original pickups without the covers, different DiMarzios, Duncans and some Bill Lawrence demos until they wore out. These Alnicos that I'm using now sound really nice both clean and dirty. Nice warm classic sound that I've found very versatile.

Just another option to think about.

tweed fender is fine. No songs in mind, just a few chords, arpeggios or whatever to get the feel of fralins, especially on lower 3 (EAD) strings.

Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it.

I can see why Popmann would like these. Kind of too flat for my taste.

Thanks man!

How the heck did you upload 35mb with dial up? Cobra

Hi NBARTS
I am glad you at least listened to the jam
Do you mean it doesn't have the balls your looking for. Or was I playing flat LOL
Remember I played through a tweed Super which is a very clean amp to start with so you could hear more detail of the pickups. Distortion to me doesn't always tell the whole story
If you need me to do another session and add some bite I will.
But yes they are smooth and mellow just the way I like. But depending on the amp and set up I can get them to growl for ya
P.S. I uploaded at work we have a high speed connection there.

let me know if you need any other help
otherwise let me know what you wind up getting.
have a good day
Wailin
