The acoustic guitar API 528 track from Sessions 1 blew me away. I've searched all over the net trying to get information about it but with no luck. What is an API 528? Someone at Mercenary told me that the 512 sounds like a 528 but salesman might not always be the most reliable source for that kind of information. Does anyone know if that's true? If not, is there anything out there that emulates that sound?

I think I'll start a new thread and put his name in the subject line.

Thanks for that link. It says the 528 is an "input assign module." I have no idea what that is. They list the 512 as a "mic preamp module," so is the 528 NOT a preamp?

I think the preamps are built in to the 528 I/O which was their pre and I/O for the consoles.

So then is this the question I should be asking: What mic pre was part of the 528 module?

I'm utterly baffled at the general opinion regarding smoking. I don't smoke, but it's a bar, for God's sake. That's what your supposed to expect. It's a den of iniquity where people are going to indulge in all of the minor vices and sins denied to them during their mundane workdays. You can wreck your liver, ruin your hearing, get into a fight, and pick up an STD, but somehow smoking is unacceptable? Sheesh. We've turned into a nation of entitled whiners.
