This is old news.

The new news is that these guys have set up shop in California. They are for real. They have the mics.

It appears there's little left of Blue except for som crappy EV mics and the one Red mic....all made in China.

Violet is over pricing themselves, except for the Black Night, which appears to be a Bluebird in black armor.

We''ll see how it all shakes out.

What we do know is Blue isn't making Blue mics right now.
JZ/Violet is but doesn't have much of an outlet or presence, but it appears they are working on it.

Too bad it all turned out this was. It was ashort life span for a real origianl in this time of clones.

Just register and get the prices. I can get an even further discount but I am so broke. Have to finish off my pre's and compressors first.

I've just spent a better part of the evening on the phone with Violet Design Microphones America CEO, Ralfs Niedra. And I've been in regular contact with the designer, Juris Zarins, over the past few months. Great to see all these developments for JZ.

Studio Reviews just published a press release:

How can you get a farther discount? Wanna share?

Dan, didn't you say you saw some paperwork from Blue in the past? Can you share that now?

Anyway, I guess we now know what's what.
Good to see the mics are going to live on.

Mad, I never had info from Blue. I've seen documents and patent information and have spoken to quite a few people in the industry who know for a fact and all agree that JZ is the actual designer of the mics. And I've known this for quite awhile.

I posted some info here on Violet, JZ and the deal with Blue.

Other than that I'm not in the position to be publishing any of the documents I've seen. And, at this point, it's not necessary anyway. Violet and JZ are now in the US selling Juris Zarins mics. It's that simple.

My bad, I think it was Lynn Fuston who made the comments (I could be wrong again though Smile). It appeared to imply the opposite of what was the thought by others in the know, JZ was the real designer an not just the owner of a manufacturing facility.

I wasn't asking for that, although I'd watch a trainwreck right along with everyone else I guess.

Good.....and it should be that simple. I have nothing against anyone, certainly not against BLUE, but it is good to see the rightful owners of the designs not be blocked out. It would be a downnright shame to lose such interesting and unique products.

Dan, any plans for SoundPure becoming a dealer for JZ/Violet?

Cool. Maybe you can share some contact info (or is it on the website maybe?).

BTW Mike, I didn't mean for my old news comment to come of wrong.

i was wanting to ask so
if JZ designed components for blue while under contract dose he own them?
i only ask because people design things for JBL, ford, general motors, and many other companies, but they do not own their design, the company they work dose.
i am not taking the side of BLUE ( altho i do like some of theirs mics ), i am only asking.
i hope the entire truth comes out soon.
i have no desire to support any company lacking in honesty.

He is not an "east coast rep". He's just a guy who's trying – very poorly, I could add – to set up a dealership. And he obviously has no idea what he's doing. And Lynn Fuston introduced him as JZ gets a US Rep.

I just spoke with Lynn Fuston, and he's not very happy that Jeff Williams contacted him and introduced himself as "Violet East".

Jeff has the username "VioletEastUSA" and calls himself "rep" and "distributor" and uses "we" and "our" when talking about Violet. He's misrepresenting who he is – plain and simple.

If anyone wants to speak to "Violet USA" they need to be talking with Ralfs Niedra – and NO ONE ELSE. Ralfs is the CEO of Violet Design Microphones America, based in Encino, CA.

Apparently so does he.

That thing with him and his PayPal account looks fishy to say the least. Does anyone know who he is? Is this where you were going to get an additional discount?

Anyway, I've had contact wioth Ralfs before all of this and they are looking to build a distributor network, so............maybe this guy is working on it

Strange though, he's asking people for their pictured of the mics.

All in all he has fraud written all over him.

Violet USA is, that's not Jeff Williams.
Hell he can't even sell a picture of them.....I guess he can't find the web site. Big Laugh

And 5k is a whole lot of money......they are over pricing themselves for sure.

Their philosphy is backwards: cut out the middle man and charge more money. That ain't gonna work.

If they don't change that they will be selling only mics from the Dragonfly on down.

And if Blue has a right to manufacture the same designs in China (while putting in screws in and labels on in the USA and saying US made), they will blow JZ/Violet out of the water. I'm sure they would love nothing more.

And if JZ thinks people will pay a lot more for a mic of similar quality because it was made in Latvia and not China, I think he will get a rude awakening.

I think I'm gonna pull up a chair....I don't know if there's ever been such a war among gear makers in our time. I just hope they undercut each other to no end so I can justify buying a couple of Bottle mics. Big Grin.

Hello Guitwizz,

Violet Flamingo already has babies.
Their name is Flamingo Junior. They have VD26 capsule and discrete semiconductor preamp.

You can have them for only $929.00 shipped to your doorstep.

Best regards,

Ralfs, is this not the equivalent to a Baby Bottle? If so, a new Baby Bottle originally sold for $500 but often was selling for under $400 (I bought mine for $370 brand new in my hand right from the store).

If not, could you please explain the differences?

For 929.00 I think you will find few takers if it's the same as a BB. If it's more like a jr version of the (daddy) Bottle, there might be people lining up for it. Smile

Also, can you give any pricing and availability info on the 8 monitor?

Thanks
