HI all need to ask a few questions bout my pc and recording ....i have put 2gether a cd on a muli track recorder and need 2 get it off there on 2 my pc using rca into mic imput on my pc and playing bak my mix and recording it in2 pc
here is the problem when i hook up the rca 2 mic imput on my pc it the cd comes out distorted due to the fact that its a laptop and they dont have good sond cards
so here is my qustion is there any kind of interface or sumthing that could fix it for me so it cums out clear when im recording cd in2 the pc??
your sound card is probably not the problem. What kind of program are you using, sounds like you are just over driving the inputs your using on the program
BTW, you shouldn't be using your mic input anyway. Assuming you don't have a digital option, the analog out of the player would use a line in of the sound card.
maybe I misunderstood the question. It sounds to me like you have a project on a multi trac recoreder and your using your laptop as a mixdown machine. If that is the case you have to use a program say like sound forge to mix to. Or you can as they are suggesting transfer the files right onto you hard drive which is the best thing to do. THen you can open them up on a multi trac program and render a in the box mix.this way your never using you sound card. Do you have a multi trac program for you laptop. Something like sonar, cubase, there was one out not long ago for free wasnt there cant remember the name maybe reaper
hi i cant rip it from cd coz i cant get it off multi track on 2 cd with it not distorting i use rca 2 mic input a friend of mine does the same thing comes out fine for him using desktop pc
i use cool edit pro and Reaper
but here is the thing as soon as i plug the rcas from muti track and mic in2 mic input and hit playback on muti track it distorted sound
this happens even when none of the above programes r open
i have checked all my sound settings on pc and multi track there both almost as low as possible and still get distorted sound
how are you playing it back what are you playing it back through
is the mic input the only input on your laptop, dont you have a line input. If your going into a mic input that is part of your problem. You friend has a totally different setup so that doesnt mean anything. See if you have a line input
im playing it threw speakers that r connected 2 my muli track recorder sound is fine and no i dont have line iput on my pc only mic and no itz not a diffrent set up 2 my friend we both have the same gear and using the same cable he is also using rca to mic input only dif is he has a desktop pc and i have a laptop.
when hooking up rca 2 mic input thats when it gets distorted on playback as the sound comes threw the pc
sounds like you need a different sound card/interface or another mix down solution to make it happen. Any stand alone cd recorder should work, The Alesis Masterlink rocks for mix down. Can you export tracks via ethernet , firewire or usb from your multi-track? That may be another solution.
