A little while later Steve walks in with a case. He pulls out a bass.

It's one of the basses that Stanley Clarke had owned and played for a major part of his career. It was the famous "Red Bass".

Needless to say, I think this made Quincy's day.

I've played around a bit with that stereo array after the Bozzio sessions.

Can't say I've recorded a couch but the strangest thing I've mic'd up was a grown man's thigh. He was wearing corduroy pants that, when a fingernail was rubbed against the corduroy, sounded perfect for the noise we were trying to get.
