Turn it up! 1st kyu |
On the Preamp Graph at the listenting sessions,
it lists a Great River as clean/transparent. Then toward the top of the graph Another is listed high up with the colored pres. The one listed as clean says "Great River MP" While the one listed as colored says "Great River NV" But I read that the MP and NV are the same things and all the current Great River Pres are NV's aren't they? When reading about the ME-1NV is says it is a single channel of the MP-2NV. I know I'm missing something obvious. But I know I can get an answer here! |

Hey Rick,
they are totally different designs. The MP is an ultra clean hifi design, very neutral, while the NV is a more neve-ish design, where designer Dan got some input from the guys from Mercenary Audio in Boston, hence the Mercenary Edition patch. The 1 and 2 channel are exactly the same design, only difference is that the 2 channel has... well 2 channels of the pre. Hope this helps Cheers Arthur |

No, last I heard, Dan pulled the MP line out of production. I know why, but I don't remember if he told me publicly, so...drop him a line, see if he'll make you one.
...they come up over on Gearslutz pretty regularly. |
