Made it through about 30 minutes of I'm Not There-the movie where like 5 different actors play Bob Dylan-and had to turn it off. What a piece of crap. Do yourself a favor & don't bother with this one.

REally, eh? The wife wanted to watch this one too. Guess she'll have to wait until it hits movie central.

I don't know, I think 'the critics' liked it, but to me it was really pretentious & hard to follow. Plus the 'live' singing was very dubbed sounding. After about 30 or 40 minutes of it, my wife & I decided we couldn't take any more.

As for Juno just going through life without a care...were you ever 16?

The character seemed somewhat jarring to me - very bright, yet sort of oblivious or detached or something. Aside from the over-the-top dialog, that would be my beef with this film.

I skipped 16 and went straight to 17 Wink

Get Smart--pretty funny and entertaining, not a knockout but I'll see the sequel. Carrell is very good.

I don't know how someone could not like Juno. But, then, I don't know why a young Garafolo is such a turn off, either. I've always found smart and funny to be sexy.

Saw Lars&the Real Girl the other night. Ehh. Take it or leave it. It was kinda sweet...I was maybe expecting a bit more irreverent humor, given the scenario.

Hancock. The first half is funny and even smart/funny. the second half is a mess, emotionally all wrong, confusing, badly directed. SKip it.

Hmm, I heard that Hancock was an absolute disaster, in that the story doesn't even expalin why he and whats her name have their powers and just had holes overall. I'll wait for DVD, for sure.

Saw Jumper. omg talk about a movie with no story. It was just ridiculous. One of those movies that make you mad that you watched it.

Saw the Cleaner last night. I'm a big Ed Harris fan, and Eva Manendez is easy on the eyes Wink Story started out cool, was sorta an original plot, but it was so so predictable for the ending....

10.000 BC a few weeks ago.Again, pretty let down.

I actually can't recall the last movie we've rented that we enjoyed. Man am I happy we didn't pay the full at the theatre for these..

Oh wait, Kung Fu Panda had some great laughs!

Re Hancock--they explain it in one long, dumb, convoluted sentence. Agree about Jumper. And thought 10,000 BC was the biggest disappointment of the year--I was really looking forward to it, but there were some howlingly bad decisions in that script.

Believe it or not, I finally saw Caddyshack the other day. Missed it when it came out years ago and then never caught it on the tube until the other day.

The back story on Chevy Chase and Bill Murray is kind of interesting. They hated each other, got in a brawl backstage at SNL, etc. Funny sometimes to hear the stories of the famous and self absorbed.

The best parts of the movie IMO are the interactions between Ted Knight and Rodney Dangerfield - some classic moments there. I thought Bill Murray's character though was insufferably stupid, much like his portrayal of Hunter Thompson. Just stupid, horrible. You want to have a DVR fast forward function to get past his parts with the gopher.

I thought Chevy Chase had some great, clever lines in it.

Worth it just for Dangerfield and Knight. And Chevy.

Saw 10,000 BC. Lame. If you want to see the ripped off original, see Apocalypto. Evil dudes take slaves, hero chases evil dudes and tries to free slaves. Same story but Apocalypto is 500% a better movie.

Jumper looks ridiculous in the previews even - won't bother with that one. The dark, moody Darth Vader kid is a horrible actor IMO - can't take him for more than about 5 minutes. The best role he's had in forever is the one where he's unconscious on the table waiting for a heart transplant. He's not talking and Jessica Alba gets most of the attention - yum! Everyone wins Razz

Saw Fools Gold the other day... light-hearted comedy - funny in parts, moves along fairly well. And... what can ya say, Kate Hudson is Da Bomb! She's funny and cute in this. This one's fine if your up for a light comedy - or a uhhh Kate Hudson fan Razz.

Mostly agreed, although he was unbelieveably good in the excellent Shattered Glass, playing the New Republic reporter who fabricated his stories in the '90s. I've never been able to understand how he could be so good in one role, and so awful in every other.

Been watching mostly TV series on DVD lately:

Rescue Me is still good through season 4. The characters (especially Leary) have calmed down some, but it still keeps us interested.

Season 2 of Boondocks wasn't as consistently good as the first, but there were still some great episodes. The one at the movie theater had me laughing my butt off. I think I'm going to rewatch Season 1 now, too.

The Wire season 1 was slow to get into, but pretty good once we got hooked.

We're in the middle of Long Way Round right now, where Ewan McGregor & another British actor (whose name escapes me) ride from London to New York through Eastern Europe, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia & Canada. We've been enjoying this one.

Hayden Christensen.

I've never seen Shattered Glass, but thought he was good as Kevin Klein's son in "My Life As A House." Pretty haeart warming tale of a young adult reestablishing his relationship with terminally ill father.

That was a really good movie! I'd forgotten he was in that.

I think they need to do a whole series of those movies:

My life as a house
My life as a dog
(really liked both)

Heard Sacha Cohen wants to do...
My life as Pamela Anderson's underwear

Or not. Razz

Be Kind Rewind was really good-better than I expected. Definitely check this one out if you haven't.

If you liked the first Harold & Kumar movie, you'll like the second which gets even more outrageous.

For me, Be Kind Rewind was an interesting failure and while I wouldn't tell people to stay away from it, I'd recommend The Science of Sleep or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind as better examples of Michael Gondry's genius.

Caught the new X FIles the other night. Hmmm. Only mildly interesting, and too long.

I didn't like The Science of Sleep at all, but did like Eternal Sunshine.
