I recently received an email from a friend asking me to be his friend on Facebook. You have to join to do this. When I thought about it I had to decline. For the over two years I've had MySpace I can't really say it's been much of a benefit but more of a time waster. MySpace seems to be cool if you don't have your own website. It's a cheap alternative and obviously many big name artists have MySpace sites. They are more interactive for their fans I suppose and it is one more piece of cyberspace. Still for all the hits I've received and the time I spend logging on to approve or deny friend requests (many of which are spam) versus CD's sold I've found it a bit of a waste.
I've had my .com website for over 6 years and have directed people there and have gotten gigs out of that. For me my real website has more than payed for itself. MySpace, Facebook I don't know. Sure some people have made fortunes with these sites and YouTube but on the average are they worth it. Any thoughts or opinions.
