Well, I’ve been lurking around this place for about a year now, and I have to say that I really dig it.

I know most of you kats from the VS Planet, where I go under a different screen name. But, I’ve grown tired of the political banter and negative atmosphere of that place. I’m really digging the vibe here and hope to contribute something worthwhile to this Super Swanky forum. I really feel comfortable and at home in a place that is 100% about music and music related stuff. If it’s okay with the members on this forum I think I’ll plant my feet here for a while.

One thing I dig here is that while alot of the people that hang out here are reported as real pro's I am a humble home redording songwriter hack I never felt like anyone was looking down at me due to my inexperience and budget limitations.

I'm one of the transplants, I guess. I mean, I've hung out here pretty steady for awhile now, but mostly only contribute (? ) in the Recording forum...But, the VSP has really gone down hill IMHO. Signal to noise is much too high and honestly, I'm sick of all the rediculous: Hey, i just had the most random thought, EVER. I should start a THREAD!@...Too attn whore'ish for me...No need to name names...Those peeps are quite obvious.

Thanks for the welcome. No, I'm not from Memphis; I'm actually from Pensacola FL. I just thought the name Memphis Monroe was pretty cool. It was sort of a stage name, but I think I'm going to retire it, at least for now.

Well, VS Planet was instrumental in my getting off my ass and getting my music up on the internet. For that I thank Vs Planet and in particular Popmann, Jazzooo, Paul, Hook, Flatcat and about 150 other guys.

I have many friends there. I only left due to the politics. I'm just not interested in arguing about it anymore.

i had 5000 posts there. I wish all my friends over at VS Planet peace, happiness and health.

To be honest, it's not a knock, really. I simply don't have the desire to engage in political threads, as it always ends up pissin in the wind anyways, and find them to be very depressing, which is why I'm on the net and on music sites to start with. To get away from depressing stuff

There just seemed to be a lot of stuff talked about that simply didn't interest me, and thats cool, so I just found myself over here more and more w/o even being conscious of it.

Some great folks @ the VSP though!

P.S. I'm still using VS'. I use my 1824 and my buddies 2400. But for the most part, we export to the box anyways.
