Well I've searched for a long time for a way to maximize real estate on my desktop to be able to see all the stuff I like to see in Nuendo. I've tried the virtual desktop route, but that doesn't really work because you can't really separate the mixer window from the main Project window.

Here's a link to the coolest desktop management out there. Ultra easy to implement if you have a nvidia video card, but there are also ways to do it if you have an ATI. Anyway, read through this post: Coolest desktop management

Right now mine is set on something like 2420x 1900 or something crazy. Basically 1.5 times what my normal resolution is. Maximize Nuendo to the whole thing then you can see the mixer, bunches of plugs, the project window, everything and it just takes moving your mouse to the top or side of the screen to pan around. It takes just a bit of tweaking to setup grids so that your programs and dialogs only maximize to a certain section. Anyway, check it out. It smokes on this end.

That example was nvidia laptop specific, have you done it on a desktop?

No I haven't, but the dude in the post says you can do it on any card. If you don't have a nvidia card with the desktop management options, you'd probably just have to find the .inf file for your video driver and alter that, but I'm not sure what the command line would look like. it should atleast start with the HKR, but I'm not sure after that. I'll search around on my work desktop and see if I can find anything. I'm not the best to ask about modifying .inf files, but this should be able to be done with any card.

well I looked for the .inf file on my work desktop and just couldn't find it. I don't want to look too hard to make any changes, but I couldn't find one that jumped out at me. It's probably worth following that post to see if anyone answers about modifying OEM supplied display drivers.

Ok, so I've been working with this since yesterday and I'm running into something. I don't know if it's Nuendo related or video card related so I figured I'd see if anyone else with Nuendo had this experience.

The daughter windows inside Nuendo won't allow me to drag to resize. When I drag they automatically snap to a smaller size and won't change. Anyone else experience that. I'm gonna do a little more experimentin' tonight to see what's up.
