My only experience with Phonic is a small mixer with a USB out. It's not that bad, even though people blow the brand off. Seems like the Firefly could be a useful tool for the money, depending on your expectations.

I own those interfaces.

I can say that they are fantastic! Digital converter is good - neutral. Chips used in it is as usual MX - the same as in motu etc.
Preamps are good, but would like better ones. So Practically if you are on budget, or you want to start with all in one devices - this is for you. Later if you will get mixer you can use line inserts and bypass preamps, but if you all ready have mixer look at Motu 24 i/o. I like that this phonic 808 has INDIVIDUAL Phantom 48, and that means that you can use also ribbon mics, with out any problems regarding V48 big voltage.
It has ADAT so you can add up to 8 lines more so on one device you can get 8 X XLR/TRS + 1 X ADAT(or more 8 channels) + Midi...
Good device....
