Hi!!!
I have a simple question for you guys:
Me and my partner are finally setting up Pro Tools at our studio.
We got a Mac G5 Quad now, and he already has Pro Tools M-Powered up and running with his M-Audio Firewire 1814 and Behringer ADA8000.
I'm planning to get an intel iMac with Intel Core Duo, and a Digi002 mixer (we also rent the studio space for band rehearsal, so we need a mixer that can both work as a controller and a stand-alone mixer).
My question is:
If I run Pro Tools LE, and he runs M-Powered, will we be able to share sessions flawlessly? The software is the same right?

May the Force be with you.

I could be wrong but, I'm wanting to say no. Unless they have made some changes, It seems like I remember hearing or reading that they are not compatible. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi I'm interested in this.

I just bought Pro Tools and an 1814 as well. Only I run them with a Powerbook G4. LE and Pro Tools as I understand are basicaly the same program set up for different interfaces. (I'm not playing MR expert here, I'm just interested in the outcome.) They should transfer better than other programs. But as we all know "should" actuality are two different things.

If you could, could you drop me a line when you find out.

Thanks

kg

Digi products are not currently compatible with the intel Core Duo.

In answer to your other question, yes you should be able to exchange sessions with the M-powered and LE versions.

It certainly works with LE and PT HD systems, I have done this myself.

You should ask the question over at the Digi User Conference http://www.digidesign.com/

Yes, 100% compatible between any protools. 7.0 is not directly backwards compatible to 6 and earlier, so if you need to do that you have to save it as a 5-6.x compatible file (under save session copy in...). But it does work, because I had files in 7 format from m-powered, saved them as 5-6.x file, and they were opened without issue on a 6.9 HD system. LE and M-powered are almost exactly the same, only differences are in compatibility with hardware.
