Thought I'd ask around here to see if anyone using either of these apps had a recommendation.
I'm running SF 7.0 and CD Architect 5.0 both of which can only run DirectX plugs. I'd like to be able to run VST plugs with them both and have been looking around for wrappers that'll let me do that. SF 8.0 supports VST plugs but I'm not really interested in shelling out 150 bucks to upgrade it when I'm perfectly happy with the capability of version 7.0 (except the non-VST support). As for CD Architect, it's anyone's guess as to when Sony will provide VST support for that. I've found a couple of wrappers that look like potential grabs, but wanted to see if anyone had experience (good or bad) with any particular ones. ______________________________ "The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it..." I've tried every wrapper there is and the only one that ever worked really solidly for me is the Cakewalk one.
I've heard other people say good things about the Spinaudio wrapper (the pay one, NOT the free one), but I found it buggy as hell. But I imagine the host program greatly affects all that. You might try the free spinaudio one - maybe it'll work fine for you and you won't have to spend any money. Chris |

Yeah, I've been looking at the Spin Audio wrapper. The freebie only lets you wrap one VST plug at a time and I'd like to be able to use multiple plugs at a time if I needed to. I'm willing to pay for a wrapper but just wanted to make sure other folks have tried them with SF and CDA before I lay down the coin.

Try posting this on the Sony forums - also if you do a search I think there's probably some wrapper info in the archives.
