I'm looking to expand my VST collection and recently discovered that Voxengo, whose Elephant limiter I treasure, makes several plugs that might come in handy. I'm particularly interested in the compressions, harmonEQ, reverbs, and distortion/vintage plugs.

Are they worth the benjamins? Do they hold their own in the ring? Will the Queen be knocked off her throne? ok, i'm done.

I tried a Voxengo plugin - don't quite remember what it was - didn't knock me off my throne (then again, I'm not the queen).

Anyway, as far as distortion goes, I really like iZotope Trash. As for reverb, there was a thread about that not too long ago, try the "find" option. Good luck.

DEFINITLEY check out Voxengo website for their plugins!!!
I have heard the demo's and they all sounded VERY authentic, Curve EQ was smooth and had great options, Elephant 2.2 just beats the rest, Crunchessor is a fantastic compressor that also has a few cool features.
And these plugs are very reasonable too, why spend hundreds of notes on old Waves plugs when for MUCH less money you can get the Vox stuff and GREAT sounding processing.
Cheers,

There are demos for every one of the Voxengo plugins and the only limitation is they mute every 15 or so seconds. So you can try them all out and see what you think.

I have demos for most of the Voxengo plugins that I don't own, and they are all great! Cool

I'm demoing a few of them right now. Found their site right after posting. I can't believe how cheap they are. The one I was most interested in was the Pristine Space reverb. Apparently I'm not smart enough the use the plugin. I guess it's time to read the manual.

So far, I like the HarmonEQ, Lampthruster, Soniformer2, and the free TubeAmp to an extent.

Try the tapebus plug (tape emulation). Best I have used.

I agree! That plugin is really nice. I do wish he would offer it separately though, as I don't really need the other plugins in that bundle and it would be nice to get it cheaper. Big Grin

I agree. I have no need for the rest of the suite either. Maybe he will get the message?

One of my favorite reverbs is the freebie "Old School" reverb from Voxengo...demo'd the comps and such, but not really my cup of proverbial tea...

But that reverb...man! Instant usable ambience, instant vibe.

I think that's pretty doubtful. It has been mentioned before on his site and I don't remember his exact words, but he didn't want to break up the bundle.

I wouldn't hurt to ask again though I guess. Big Grin

IMHO, Voxengo makes some of the best plugins available - and the extremely fair pricing (not to mention the constant - and free - updates) only sweeten the deal.

I used at least one on everythign I do.

Agreed.

I have the Crunch and some others, and find myself choosing them first when I'm messing around...rarely take them off and put something else on....

What you've just typed is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
