i've been thinking about getting 2 of those and the tascam us2400 controller or 1 Fw1804 and 1 fw1884 with a FE-8 expander..
anyone ever use either the 1804 or 1884????

by the way i'll be using it with a Dual 2.5G5 and a athlonXP 3200. both with nuendo 2 unless i upgrade to nuendo 3

well i found out that the rack unit doesn't ship until this friday, the 10th..but it seems to be a great unit. only $600.. yes $600

We had the FW-1884 in here for a month, it interfaced well enough with SX, i.e. most of the controller worked as designed. My biggest problem was NO scribble text...the constant back and forth to the monitors made the thing useless IMO. As far as their "soft LCD scribble" well...it works in theory, but the thing needs to line up with each channel, Ya' Dig?

The Frontier converters sounded So So, maybe utility grade...I though the M-Audio Delta sounded better. ymmv

i use a delta 1010 right now with my pc but i don't have the pci-x card so it can work in the mac, so i was gonna get an interface for the mac.
i was gonna get either the 002R or 828MKII for the mac until i saw the tascam unit.
i may look into it still but i want something over the delta 1010.. not on par or under it
