I been recording on my E-MU system for a while now and using the Cubase that came with the bundle. Does anyone know if I can take the song and its data and transfer it to a data cd to be downloaded somewhere else? I can do this with my Roland DAW but can't seem to get the Cubase to make a cd data . Thanks

I could be wrong but I don't think any DAW like Cubase, Sonar, ProTools, etc., burns a data CD directly. You need to use one of the usual CD burning apps (Nero, etc) or even the standard software in XP or mac OSX. Just drag or select the file into the app. Obviously you will want to make sure to select "data" as they type of CD you're burning.

And for ROland, you're gonna want to export the tracks "rendered from zero"...You do this by setting the IN marker at zero and using the "audio mixdown" function in Cubase.

Rolands won't recognize timestamps, to that's why you need to render them all from the zero point.

True Cubase (SX3) Won't burn itself. I use Wavelab's "basic CD", or for a full album the montage burn function.

Another thing, as far as the "data" part in SX... export the file as an "OMF"

Open Media Framework Interchange, is a platform independent file format intended for transfer of digital media between different applications.
Cubase SX can import and export OMF files (file extension “.omf”), allowing you to use SX in conjunction with other audio applications.

I have burned an entire Cubase SX project by dragging and dropping the file into the app that comes with Win XP.
