I am transitioning to Digital Performer 4.5 on my Mac. How can you assign a click track to something other than the internal soundcard??? I have a Metric Halo ULN-2 and need to monitor the click in the ULN-2 cans. TIA!

Dp lets you assign the click to an internal sound or a midi source. That's it. If you have a midi keyboard or drum machine hooked up you can assign the click to it and route its output back through the ULN.

Thanks! I did manage to create a Midi track assigned to Apple DLS which routes the click back to Quicktime synth and I can hear it through the ULN-2. But, how do I change that piano click sound to something else? Neither DLS nor Quicktime appear in my AudioMidi setup. I thought Quicktime had banks of General Midi sounds...

Double click on the metronome icon. It'll bring up a screen that let's you assign the click to a midi channel and a note number.
GM channel 10 is reserved for drums. Note number Db1 is usually a cross stick/rim thing. |

Thanks!!! This worked great! I added an instrument track (DLS) and route the click through DLS on channel 10. I can get drum sounds and print the click to a track. Exactly what I wanted.

Glad it worked. I was actually guessing because I use DP 3.1.1 and that's the procedure for my older version. I was hoping they hadn't changed it too much.
