what is it that you're trying to acheive? Most of the things i have come across are just compression/distortion, which is basically what gives tape its 'sound' but haven't really worked with anything incredibly convincing. T-racks limiter and/or soft clipper can be pretty decent for that kind of thing. You're using a PC right? I've heard good stuff about some of the voxengo stuff.

Samplitude's Analog Modeling stuff is now for sale in a separate VST format...The AM Track stuff is the coolest tape emulator I've used (next to genuine tape of course)...

If Its Not A Good Idea, Then Why Am I Risking A Career With It?
