What is the best free antivirus option out there? I have Avast and have tried AVG which i don't like. ANything better?

I use Avast and have never had a problem. However, I don't have any virus protection running on my recording computer. I never get on the internet with it or introduce media that I don't know where it's been.

Yeah, I got a laptop for the web so I can surf in my room without putting my recording machine online but of course that got me into mobile recording so I'd like something lean and mean so I'm wondering what the best security software for me would be. Even if it's just something easy to enable and disable.

It's pretty easy to enable and disable Avast from running in the background, but I have no idea if it is still using any resources or active in any way when disabled. It's certainly not a hog like Norton. Ecch! |
