My new buddy MudBean says my spelling sucks! In light of not wanting to A) go back to school and learn to spell. B) Stop recording long enough to learn to spell. C) Be humilliated by asking my 12 yr old daughter how to spell Pseudo. D) continue to look like a dumb-ass musician/engineer......

Is it possible to add a spell check to the forum?

My spelling sucks too sometimes. If I've typed a big old honkin' post sometimes I'll drop it in Word and do a quick run through before I post it, so I won't look like a complete dolt. Plus my R and M keys stick sometimes. And I am the worst proof reader known to man.

The few times I've tried to use spell checkers on forums they sucked. But maybe it was just me that sucked at using them.

My biggest problem is, I can't type as fast as I'm thinking, so I type and type, then go back and read it, and say, "What the?"

my spelling is the worst.
i do use spell check it it dose seem to work, but i am on mac and use safari.
i would not worry to much about spelling if it were me.

I type like a one armed guy on a rowboat during a hurricane.
I have found that by typing in Microsoft Word, using spellcheck, and then just pasting into SF helps greatly!

Sorry, guys. The Eve forum software doesn't have spellcheck. But there's quite a few ways to get something you used for spellchecking.

On Macs, Mail works great.

For IE users there's http://www.iespell.com

There's Spellbound for Firefox and Mozilla http://spellbound.sourceforge.net

I'm sure there's more. Maybe other folks can list what they know and use.

I find myself not only not able to spell, but I feel like I can barely even form letters with a pen on paper! I write out my checks and that's all I write with a pen. The kindergarten kids I teach write neater than I do! It's a good think I just need to teach them to read and sing. Because I am the chicken scratch queen!

As for correctly spelled words, nicely formed sentences etc - of course it's nice to do it by the rulez, but it's not as though anybody has ever posted anything where it wasn't clear what he/she meant. And in the end, that what it's all about, right?

on safari here with my mac and my spell check work as is.
type a message in the reply window then select spelling from the edit menu.
my only issues in the spelling in the spell check is as bad a i am.
i have told it to learn a million times and i swear it spells as bad as i do.

Well it was supposed to be Jack! But alas...I can't spell. At one time they fixed the spelling for me, but everyone vito'd me. The unanimous vote was that I was just a Jacl. fine with me!

FireFox 2 has a built-in spell checker

It's underlining "wattogo" as I type this

There is one misspelling that drives me nuts whenever I see it; using "loose" when the witer means "lose." I've even seen "loosed" used instead of "lost" e.g. I loosed all my data when my drive crashed.

I'm always surprised at how often I see this one.
