Ah...CBGB...

I haven't been there since the early/mid-80s. But I went there a lot. My best friend was in a band that played there pretty often.

Hope it went well. That's a great place.

CB's, haven't even thought about that place in a while. Still the same I'd imagine. Graffitti, fire hazard band stalls. Wink

How was it? Hope it was fun.

Do they still have a 24 track 2 inch machine? I'm trying to remember the last time I was there. Maybe CMJ '91? I feel old. Big Grin

Hi,

Yeah CB's is now three clubs in one, CBGB's , the main club hasn't really changed a bit. There is also CBGB's Gallery next door which does more acoustic electric stuff and then there is the Lunge downstairs which is a long deep c basement with lots of couchs , a bar and a decent sound system at one end. Low fi atmosphere and good sound throughout the three joints. i didn't notice if the 2" tape machine is still there but I did see some computers spread about.

It was a nice gig, I hadn't played in town for a while and the audience was really very receptive. New York can be tough but this was a fun night.
I even managed some gas money out of the deal.

Carl

Sounds like a good time. The only thing downstairs was the "bathroom" when I was there last.

That 24 track was by the board. I doubt it's been there in a long time. Big Grin Do they still offer recording of your set? I was out with a band that recorded a there afew times. Once, they didn't get the Kick. That was drag when we went to mix!

Soundcheck, St. Marks for pizza, and sideshow, then back. That was our typical MO.
