I just brought it upstairs to my lair. Big Grin I'm hoping to take it for a test spin maybe this evening. I'm dying to stop and take it out now, but my house is full of contractors. Smile

Thanks to Steve and Dan, and to Larry at ADK for sending it out.

I'll post some tracks as soon as I can. I have an NTK that I bought a couple of months ago that I haven't been able to try out yet (my life is somewhat chaotic at the moment), so I've been thinking putting them head to head might be interesting.

Thanks again!

I wish my life was hectic enough to shelf a sweet tube mic for months. I am curious how the mics stack up.

Dusty - please believe me when I tell you that you would not want your life to be hectic the way mine's been, really. Smile It hasn't been a good busy, and I wish I'd been able to trot out that NTK before now. But, you know, that's what happens sometimes.

I'll definitely post a couple of things just as soon as I can.

Smile

flatcat,
It's too bad you have to 'sit' on these mics for so long. I know what hectic life is all about. I don't even get into my studio until saturday afternoons, and then only for about two hours before 'life' takes over once again.
Have fun when you finally get to them.
I'm jealous (and I'm not supposed to be!)

Hey Flat - no pressure or anything, but have you had a chance to use it yet? Yay

I screwed around a little with both the ADK and the NTK on Saturday afternoon. I set them up side-by-side and recorded them through my RNP - acoustic guitar, my voice, shaker and a tambourine. Nothing worth keeping and posting yet; I'll try and get to more over the course of the week. And I'm not comfortable saying much about what I heard until I throw something onto a CD and listen to it on a couple of different things.

I also think I'd like to try them on a couple of other instruments - I'd like to hear them on fiddle, a different acoustic guitar, maybe I'll drag my amp upstairs and try that too (not as easy as it sounds), maybe on my stepson's cheap drum kit.
