Hey there, just signed up here the other day.

I'm not a music gear expert, but I know a lot of brands/models- at least I thought I did.

How long has ADK been around? Anyone here use ADK stuff?

I've got a pair of ADK A-51 type III condensers. I use them a LOT.

Good stuff for the $$$.

They're designed in the US and built in China. I'm not sure what kind of changes the do to the stock Felio condenser, but the A-51 type III and type V have been pretty well received.

I haven't tried anything else in their product line.

Maybe Larry or JP can jump in here (if they are reading)? I gather from what I have been told and read, that ADK mics are far from the off the shelf models that others sell. They introduce many new advancements which others then copy and so eventually those modifications do end up on many of the other 'clone' Chinese mics.

Thanks for asking about ADK. We are a five year old condenser microphone company that was the result of a collaboration between two musicians and engineers - Brian Hutchison and myself. We both have been in the recording arts in excess of 30 years and play multiple instruments.

Basically Brian wondered if we took my rather large collection of vintage German and Austrian tube mics and spectrum analyzed them - whether we could make credible "sonic replicas" of these mics. If you read the early reviews you will see that some top industry folks heard what we were doing. Who knew the flood gates would open like they did! It may not be ironic that once innovation makes it's way into the market, that the big Marketing Companies all come in behind it and take over. Thus we have seen a glut of products in recent years. What we continue to do - which perhaps sets us apart - is to never stop innovating. One of our Top Sellers - the model S - has been taken off the market for the last 8 months while we completely re-made it - capsule / electronics / the works! The new JP Vienna Edition, coming next week, is the result.

Maybe it's a bad business decision to be without one of your top sellers for so long, but it's a decision that will benefit the end user. Which is the whole point of ADK! WE ARE END-USERS !

One of the reasons we are not so well known is because we do not sell to the big chains or box houses. Our theory is that you need to hear our mics to know how good they are. So independent dealers are the way in which we offer our mics.

Our Motto is "Let your ears decide!"

Anyway, for comprehesive details about our products, please visit our site - and re-visit in about 30 days because there are a whole lot of new and useful pages about to be added!!!

Thanks!
