Studio Forums actually went for an entire year without even one single topic being started that asked, "What's the best mic for $100?"

I think that is our crowning accomplishment to date!!

Wow, that is inredible! Applaud Applaud Applaud

Guess that sums up why I dig this forum so much!

I just wish I'd get more feedback on my q's about multi-thousand dollar gear Wink

But really, this is the most respectful, honest and mature forum I've been on so far. It's getting to be a great community. Happy birthday SF, and here's to hoping the next year is just as cool! Yay

I'm going to start a website called www.whatsthebestforunder$100.com and continuously link it to this site.

haha

Yes that rules, oldest question on the web and just keep getting more annoying. Of course, we were all newbies once too.

Hey, maybe I should start selling some mic and declare it... "THE BEST MIC FOR UNDER $100" and become rich!!?!?!? BBBMMMUUWWWWWHHAAHHAAHHAAHHAA!

tonio, this topic is kind of a joke, because in some of the other online recording forums there can be several "What's the best mic for $100?" topics going at the same time. And they can get asked over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

People asked so much, I wrote an article and just put up a link http://www.mojopie.com/micproj.html

And, BTW, if anyone asks, the best mic for $100 or under is the Studio Projects B1. There's not a mic on the market in that price range that touches the B1 for sound, versatility and sheer workhorseness.

Right now, while they're still on sale, the Oktava MK319 is a very cool mic.

22F, oh boo-hoo! Wind chill's been around -5F to -10F here in the 'Kosh...air temp's 3F right now. Just the other day it was a warm, rainy day in the mid-30's and everyone was wearing a light jacket. "Quite the heatwave, huh?" was being circulated among the townspeople ad nauseum...now we're back to freezing our collective nuts off...

F*ckin' Wisconsin Roll Eyes

BTW J6P--you took the words right out of my mouth. Used SM57, absolutely! Waytogo

Werd to that Dirty. I feel yer pain about the Indian Summer. 19 here now, but single digits a little later. Won't get much warmer, they say, 'til next week.

Warren, brother, you must feel like you're back home. Least you don't have to stand out waiting on the School bus in it anymore. Wink
