J-

Have your stuff sent to someone in the States. Then they can forward the goodies to you.

Just a thought.

----------------------------------------------

What you've just typed is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Well I bought a pair based on all I read about them. I've been recording a new Alt/Rock/Punk band and needed some headphones the drummer could hear the click and guitars through. He was having mucho trouble with the Sony 7506's I put on his head. I also tried some Audio Technica's but he had trouble hearing the click through them as well.

The day the Extreme's showed up, he not only heard the click and the guitar guide tracks easily, but he could hear his drums through the phones and not just through the bleed.

Highly recommended.

I thought I would share this:

Dear Musician,

It's as easy as pumpkin pie to get a jump on your shopping this holiday season with Musician's Friend! By ordering before midnight on Thanksgiving, November 27th, you'll save $10 off orders over $99*! And to make it even sweeter we offer Free Shipping on most orders over $199**. To take advantage of this special offer, you must call 800-421-5172 and use the code TN99 when placing your order (sorry coupon can not be redeemed on web orders).

I don't know if its "legal" to share this (i recieved it as a member of their mailing list). But I'm sure they could use the business. Add some accessories and get your pair for 70 bucks! Thats a steal. I will be taking part of this promotion... I'm just looking for something to jump my order up to 200 as I am cheap like that.

I've been using akg270s which sound great but because I track in the same room as the players the bleed is awful. Will order extremes soon.

I just purchased the Extreme Isolations last week and am very impressed. There is no bleed on any of my vocal tracks. They sound flat, and true. I reccommend them at any price you can get them at. Sam ash matched the musiciand freind price for me. They can match no tax?

Yo Mikey,
Ash probably dropped the price low enough so after adding the tax, the price equaled the MS quote. Don't worry, they got their tax alright!

MA,

They covered the tax and did no shipping for me...on a larger order though.

I've been thinking about getting a pair. What I'm interested in the alleged advantages of self recording. If I'm recording myself playing acoustic guitar, there's so much room sound mixed with the phones that I can't trust any tracking decision regarding mic placement etc. until I actually play it back through the monitors - which as we all know, is a pain. Not that I'd totally trust phones for this either - but if it's true that these really do isolate the sound to the cans, it'd allow me to get much closer to decision making before I have to verify tracking quality through the monitors.

Are these things really that good? I don't care if they're not extremely accurate - as long as I can "learn them" - kind of like we all do with monitors. Is this realistic?

These baby's are kick-butt phones alright...

I placed an order over their web site and they showed up 48hrs. later on my doorstep. The do EXACTLY what they claim. Now I won't hardly play my drums in the studio without them on my head.
Not only do they make my can's sound sweet they help protect my already somewhat damaged hearing.

Worth every penny. The only things is that they're heavier on your head than cheaper quality phones. I'm still getting use to them. I used BOSE TriPort's before these. The BOSE are lighter on my head, but don't provide the same level of isolation.

I'd recommend em' especially for drums or console mixing.

Larry--

This is why I can't say enough good things about the Extremes. They are the best thing for mic placement. You're recordings will improve whether you are placing mics on yourself or someone else. Just put on the Extremes and listen.

What's great about the Extremes for mic placement seems to me to be the 29db in outside sound rejection. This helps you make mic placement decisions that aren't influenced as much by the sound in the room, as the sound direct from the mics to the phones. The Extremes are very good at this.

However, the Remote Audio phones I've upgraded to are 45db of rejection, and a Sony 7506 element that I'm very familiar with. This helps me trust what I'm hearing even more. These are excellent at this, but very pricey!

Man,

I could go for that boom mic option, I'm constantly having to get singer's attention while recording with hand signals etc.

Only if the price was a little more reasonably on the combination...anyone know of something similar?
