Hey, this place belongs to everyone here, so I'd be interested in some input.

1. How long should we allow for custom member titles?

2. How many posts should be required for Senior Member. [ if you have a custom title it doesn't really matter. But after we quit handing them out. ]

3. What should we call the Senior Member and Junior Members.

4. After we stop with the custom member titles, how many posts should a senior member make before being allowed to request a custom title.

Creativity is appreciated! : )

Well ofcourse both you and I know the similar values that are used at homerecording.com/bbs, but this board might not grow as soon (with 16.000+ members... Wink )
Anyway, I'd say, grant custom titles to the first 100 members, and to senior members that have posted 666 posts! (demonic! Wink )
Junior member status: 0-50 posts
Member status: 51-500 posts
Senior member: 500+ posts
Custom title: 666 posts

Maybe make the junior/senior names somewhat related to Star wars+audio stuff... like
Junior Member: Luke Inline-console-Walker
Senior Member: Obi Wan Avalon/Obi Wan KeNeve
and Member: Han SSL-olo...

just some thoughts.... hmm... does it show that I want expensive stuff and that I like Star Wars? Wink
I'll try to come up with some other stuff soon...

Ha! Some good ideas there, speed.

We can only do Junior to Senior as far as the number of posts.

So no "Member"?
Is this technically overcomeable, or is the software for this forum written in such a way, that it only allows 1 cross-over point in post count?

In that case, Senior Member at 250 posts, and Custom titles at 500...

And a free set of penis enlargement pills at 2000 posts (the thought behind this: you're posting so much, because you have a lousy sexlife. this might be due a really small penis... Big Grin Wink )

how bout:
Junior Member- Cable Carrier
Senior Member- Fader Pusher
pretty allround and studio-hiarchy(sp??!) wise...

I'm not a big fan of that form of labelling. I always felt it a little cheesy at the HC forums. It's almost like a false charting system.

I think the personal messages under the avatar were more interesting myself.

Ouch ! This could be painful, I don't post very often so it could take awhile for me to move from "cable carrier" to "fader pusher" or from "Luke" to "Obi". Looks like I should step up my posts. Frown

I always find titles strange and misleading. I know a lot of knowledgable poeple hit sites like these and give some excellent advice. But then you have a larger number of poeple that seem more interested in getting titles on web pages than actually making music. So when you read a "senior member" giving some pretty fuzzy advice and has never worked with anything but a 57 through something like a nady board, you wonder about the validity of titles. Maybe it's better just to number how many posts someone has made rather than authorize titles that can be misleading. (Just my input FWIW... I'm sure I don't have the popularity vote on this one Smile) - David

250 posts = senior if it must be this way.

I'd like to see the custom lines stick.

Hey wait, I'm a senior member. Must be set around 100? Um maybe 100...yeah that's the ticket...

The custom titles stay. And, in fact, I thought it would just give a chance for a little more individual expression.

The Junior / Senior stuff I don't care so much about. Senior Member is set at a modest 25 posts at this point. Warren, you wanna' custom title now?

Hey Dan,
What about this custom title stuff? How long is it available, and to whom is it available?
People call me all sorts of names, but none of 'em ever stick, cause I'm only a shithead or a schmuck for short bursts, and then I'm back to 'normal'.
I had a stage name whilst in a Capitol Records group, and I'd like to once again use it.

KenMeister Cool

So now we get custom titles AND kyu's?

Cool...

What you've just typed is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
