Cool with some changes Smile

Now I won't have to go into that thread for the new look anymore!

They really did a number on the place, my Avatar was gone. There's now an option in 'Profile' to upload Avatars.....except it's locked and gives the following message:

"You have not been given the permission(s) to access this page. You require the following rights to view this page: 'Can upload avatars to site'. For a full list of permissions you have on this community, please visit your MySpace Permissions page."

Finally took the plunge, eh Dot! Wink

It's not so bad, though all these windows popping up are reminding me that my computer is woefully underpowered...

...Maybe I should suck it up and a buy new Mac! Eek

I can't seem to generate a new Topic.

Am I missing something?

I hit the "New" button . . with the little folder dealy . . and nothing happens.

I think I can reply . . let me see if this ... oh-oh

uh guys,

what does "FORMATTING WEB-HOST SERVER DRIVE" mean exactly ?

darn

The dealy is churning away there. Computer seems quite adamant about that command. Uh . . any way, how do I reply to a topic or create a new topic.

Or have I been cut-off ?

dirty, I didn't take the plunge. Infopop is doing upgrades all across the board. All UBB.x boards are now running on something called Eve.

I didn't know anything about this. Looks like a lot of new options, but it might take some time to get everything and everyone adjusted.

I can make a quick reply, or a full reply. But so far (unless the button is staring me in the face) not able to post new topics.

I suspect others may be effected.

What?

What do you mean "Nope, just you - it was a coup" ?

Well...what a swell little surprise from infopop! Roll Eyes

I'm sure it's not a bad interface, but it seems like there's a fair share of glitches for them to workout...I'm still getting the hang the navigation--not as intuitive as the old UI, not by a long shot...but it seems like it'll be more versatile once things get smoothed out...but like Fred's saying, there are basic functions that I just can't figure out now Slap

Fred, it seems that the new platform needs to be used with the newer browsers.

In a note from Infopop

quote:
Note that Eve requires IE 5.5+, Netscape 7+, Mozilla, Safari or Opera 7+.  Thiscovers over 99% of all internet users.  Older browsers may not workcorrectly.  Also note that your users will need to reset their preferences after the move to Eve.

Uh, okay . . but galldarnit,

h o w ?

where do I have to go . . and shouldn't there be a message that pops up that tells you to do this?

Curse those pesky programmers.

Now I have to reach into my < grunt > Bat Utility Belt and see if < grunt > my Bat Computer can re<grunt>configure itself for the new <grunt> software.

Boy Wonder, I can't reach the front pouch of my Bat Utility Belt. Maybe you can ?

Wasn't there a "one button" search function that let you search for all posts which you had posted to previously, but now had new content, and another that let you search for all posts that mentioned you by name?
Am I crazy? Why would they remove that in the 'upgrade' ? Confused

Yes, and now the "button" to do that is your post count - which is hyperlinked. You can go to all the posts anyone has made by clicking on their post count.

I'm still using Netscape 4.7 for just about everything (I HATE the scrolling bookmarks in the 7.0 version) so I guess I'll have to use IE for this site now...

I'm using Avant Browser and it's fine aside from being slower on SF than before. AB is based off of IE though...

Thanks for the heads up, Tube. I'm getting the same thing. I sent a "support ticket" to Infopop about it.
