What you've just typed is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Welcome Ronan,

I saw a reference to performing with the Flaming Lips on your site.

I played in a band with a drummer who went on to be be one of the the Lips revolving drummers (Nathan Roberts). Don't know if you crossed paths at the same time or not but either way Welcome and glad to have ya!

I don't own a whole lot of mics and if you read a lot of the advice I chime in with on boards I try annd tell other people not to buy too many mics. I recorded Terry Bozzio at Stagg Streeet Studios in LA, not my own place so I had all their mics as well. My goal was to try and record Terry's whole kit with 4 mics but I was not able to do it because of the odd arrangement of the drums which is the drums in a sort of horse shoe around him but also becasue the cymbals are in layers.

For people that do not know Bozzio the kit we are talking about had 4 kick drums, one snare, 16 toms and 40 cymbals. I ended up using 11 tracks for the drums which I think was actually about 13 or 14 mics. Previously Bozzio had recorded his drums with about 25 mics, but I convinced him to go with my more ambient approach, and I was happy to hear last time I ran into him that he has adopted that as his stardard micing now. On a personal note, Terry is one of the nice-est musicians you will ever run into.

The mods are all eligible for the giveaways. And we've had a couple months where mods have won. I'm the only one here not eligible by default.

Ronan,

Sounds like the plan.Wink

I've heard a few of his recordings, It's definitely a very syncopated melodic method of drumming.
