Hi Dot,
Great site you have here. The sessions are awesome and incredibly useful. I have a KSM 27 and I'm looking for a budget pre-amp, what mic's would you say are close in the listening sessions?

Nice place ya got here!

I just dropped over from the MusicPlayer forums, where I've wasted significant portion of my life. Razz

Just as a hello/FYI - I'm a musician & live engineer (made far more $ at the latter...) and I am dabbling in computer recording. Hope I can contribute something useful, or at least something stupid that's good for a laugh. Big Grin

Hi, Dan. Hi, Chris. Hi, Henry.

Hi, everybody!

I also wandered over here from the MusicPlayer forums, Craig Anderton's SSS forum, to be exact.

Thanks for posting the link over there, Dan.

This site looks great so far, and I have yet to fully explore it. It's always nice to find another forum to discuss recording and music on.

Hello Everyone,

I'm pleased to have found this site! I'm a production manager for a special event company from Houston, and have been a folk musician and recording junkie for 20 years.

I just drove back from yet another VO workshop at Full House in NYC.

Although I'm a little tired, it's good to find yet another forum. Perhaps I can get up to speed on this recording without 1/4 inch tape stuff!!!

Hi.
I'm Ken.
A little about myself:
I'm a nut case that's into high quality recording.
I'd sell my mother for a great piece of pro audio gear. I'd sell my father for a great piece of pro audio gear too, but he ain't on this planet anymore.
I went to school for Music. 'Nuff said there.
No, I'll never tell where I went to school. I don't want anyone to judge me on that merit.
If I can help, I will. If I can be helped, I'll ask.
That is all.

Dan, nice place you have here ... thanks for the invite!

Lots of familar screen names here so many of you probably know a bit about me already. Well, more info about me can be found by clicking on the link to my band's website below ...

I'm more musician than recordist and that trend will probably continue, but I see lots of forums with cool topics and, I dunno, stuff that maybe I can understand sometimes.

So I look forward to hanging out and learning, and maybe even having useful knowledge that I can share!

Peace out,

gg

My user name was supposed to be Scooter B as it is on the HR.com site which is where I found the link here.

Anyone know how to change your user name without losing your post count? I would like to qualify for the A Designs Preamp.

I just realized I never signed in, damn idiot is I.

My name is Dusty, I live in Kansas. I am 19 years old. I am the proud owner of a home studio (the finest in the county, I should add) and a loud personality. I don't eat meat or dairy products. I spend most my spare time writing songs. And the rest of it either recording them, or writing rediculously long posts. I work in the pig shit industry as a custodian. I enjoy a good book now and then. I prefer Star Wars over Star Trek, but I don't enjoy either. My favorite band is The St. Lunatics, and I like Trick Daddy a lot too. Some day I hope to be a big time producer so I can make lots of money and do coke all day. Smile

Oops, I never signed up either...

My name is Warren Dent, I'm a home/project studio guy from SC with a bunch of kids and a great wife who understand...sometimes daddy just doesn't come out of that room. Smile

I write an article here and there for www.mojopie.com, good reviews and info there as well as this great site.

Man Dusty, I'm in KC. We should hook up sometime.

I guess I never signed in either.

My name is Jason Aldrich. I live in KC with my wife and 3-1/2 kids. I have a home/project studio. I am a singer as well. I originally got interested in recording to record myself the way I wanted. (I was sick of label producers butchering my stuff or making me do songs that were horribly unsuited for me) but it has taken on a life of its own.

I am an Applications Engineer by day. I also do voice overs. I am the worship leader at church.

I just got an actual dedicated room set up early this year so I am just really learning the tricks of the trade. I can hear a lot of stuff, I just don't know how to make it do exactly what I want yet. But I am learning.

Anyway, enough about me.

Jason A.

Scooter, in your profile you have a User Title, which is the name you use to log on. Then there is a Display Name - and that's what people see - and you can change that at any time without it affecting your post count - which is linked to the User Title.
