It sucks and it sounds obvious as hell. i had a similar experience at a local guitar store recently. I went in looking to buy a guitar, they had a couple i was interested in and i had cash in my pocket. i couldn't get any attention to save my life. A Mom type walks in and gets immediate attention about the hundred dollar guitar for her son. I am hanging around somewhat patiently and another person walks in and gets attention. At this point I speak up and ask to try the guitars. The salesperson looks at me and says "Why don't you come back another day were in the middle of something .!'" Maybe it was the way I was dressed or my shaved head but I couldn't believe it and Man I was ready to buy. This wasn't racial discrimination but it was discrimination based on how i looked and who they judged me to be, none the less. Pathetic.

Don't buy anything serious from these people, they don't deserve it.

Anyone have any experience with the 4040? How do these 3 compare (for real) to their cheaper eastern cousins?

Just get your favorite local or online shop to price-match.

The AT4040 is a great mic. It's sort of hot and sort of fat. But, it doesn't have a designer frequency graph.

They give away they're mics with pretty much everything (and they prices are pretty good to begin with ), which is nice when your starting out (like me) and have 1 or 2 mics. Good people to.
