Have I been zoned out or did you just become the official moderator of this forum? Either way, I'm not sure whether to say "congratulations" or "I'm sorry in advance". I am not totally new to recording but I am when it comes to tech work and I'm not afraid of asking stupid questions.

I've got my soldering station on order and set to arrive this week so I'll be all heated up and ready for DIY training by the weekend. I have been reading up on the soldering and schematics links already posted to get some background but I really think things will fall together when I just jump in.
