right now i have a 4ft deep, 4ft wide, 7ft high

My problem is it makes my vocals sound like they low quality... my equip is:

Nady SCM 1000 mic
ART Pro Channel preamp, compressor, EQ
Delta 44 sound card

good computer

there's no echo in the room, no background noise, but the vocals don't sound good...sorta like there is too much high and not enuff mid or low sound...im not sure how to explain it, but it doesn't sound good

this is how i set up the foam and rug in my booth

again, it's 4ft wide on all three walls, and 7ft high

can you guys suggest anything i can do to improve the sound in the booth??

you should post an example of what the vocal track sounds like.

thank u for replyin i was gettin hopeless...

good idea...i uploaded it to

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=28394

it's labeled 'vocal booth preview'

the 1st set of vocals has a reverb and sterio effect....
after the instrumental the vocals repeat; these are dry(no effects)

I think that I like the vocal without the reverb. You might want to throw in some more EQ and maybe a de-esser. I think that with the vocal more dry, it will sit in with the rest of the mix a little better. If you still want some reverb, just add it little by little.

Forget the mix'd version...it's not sitting well at all.

For the artist...pop filter...deEsser or something. I can feel the spit coming through.

The vocals seem a bit strained. You might try cabling up a monitoring chain with reverb built in to help it feel more natural...sounds like you're recording and monitoring it dry...the vocals are trying to add ambiance. Ease up on the emphasis a little...more natural.

I'm feelin' it. Like the message and the feel.
