Hi guys, im looking to purchase some event tr6 monitors from the states (im in australia). My question is can i run them without a stepdown transformer. This is what it states in the manual.
"POWER REQUIREMENTS- 100VA, factory programmed for either 120v~60Hz, 220-240v~50-60Hz, or 100V~50-60 mains". Does that mean the one monitor can use all of these mains powers, or does it mean that there are 3 possible configurations you can but depending on where you live? Part 2! Will using stepdown transformers affect the sound of the monitors? CHEERS AND BEERS! Tristo |

No I think if you post in the right forum you have more chance to get a response. |

Without seeing the units, it sounds like that the voltage selection is a jumper on the PCB inside the monitors. Is there a voltage selector switch on the back? Might also be a switch mode supply which selects the voltage automatically.... As I say its hard to tell from this description. Peter |

Hey tristo, I'm from Oz also, and most of the imported monitors that I have seen either have a voltage selector switch on the back, or automatically select the correct voltage. Best way to be sure of the particular monitors that you are looking at is to go to a Pro Audio store and check them out... I woke up this morning - WOW! |
