I really enjoyed the songs, Very Nice, my first sonic impression was the very nice depth, then the wonderful 3D mix. Nice balance. Sounds like a big studio production.
But you already new that

Hey - just popped in for a quick visit and was stoked to see that the record may be approaching completion at last. Sounds freakin' awesome, Jamie. You oughtta be way proud of these tracks.
I'm not around the forum much these days so don't forget to hit me up on e-mail when it's ready for purchase - I'm definitely good for a copy.
the reason I ask...is because all the performances are the same as original roughs, save the drums, bass, Egtr(which there wasn't one at all before) from Lose You.

Pop, I really enjoyed those. The production values are so over my head. The bass and and drums really knock my socks off. Writing and arrangements and are top shelf. The instrumentation in Girl I Used to Know is just extra nice. Congratulations for all the hard work coming together.
I guess if you're not gigging or have a fan base(or hope to), perhaps it's OK to do something on a small scale. It is expensive to do the mastering, design and replication route. I don't read your comment as if you think a "record company" is going to step up and handle things..
anyhow, the disc sounds good, it is one of those that you discover some cool touches upon the 3rd and 5th listen..
that's my second favorite song of all time...everything else is tied for first though.

That's the correct interpretation. It was kinda tongue in cheek. Are there even big record companies anymore? I've been too old for a record company to care about releasing my work for a while. It kinda leaves me in a weird place when it comes to the parts of finishing an album I consider "business".
It's funny...I had already taken the feedback gained so far and was playing with how I would apply it to the next set of tunes. Talk of rerecording vocals and remixing and sending it out for mastering and cover art...

I have enjoyed your gear opinions for years, and I share your taste in pop music, though your knowledge is way deeper than mine. But I listened to your new tracks last noght, and was floored by the quality.
Especially "Girl I Used to Know". By far your best ever track, to my ears. Excellent song, the steel is great, and your best vocal. You could even nudge the vocal up a little - it deserves to stand out.
Frankly, I think you need steel guitar, and maybe mandolin, in every song. You're in Nashville, for goodness sake!
