This is the lastest tune I wrote, which I dont do much of anymore. I could use some feedback on the arrangement. Im going to get a real bass player in this week. Other than that, it seems like somethings missing. Any thoughts?

I'd almost need to hear a version that's stripped down to the lead vox and acoustic gtr.

I don't think it's as much about something missing as it is some of the parts that have been added not working. I don't think the drum approach or sound works. I think it's the wrong kind of beat - especially on the verses.

I dunno if you're up for it, but if you could post another mp3 with just vox and acoustic I could probably make some more constructive commments.

I don't mind the drum feel in this one but think it needs a softer, warmer sounding snare.

I liked the composition and the clarity of the vox, though, M5.

Thanks Bazz. I actually tried my SM81, after reading Popmann had tried it. I had to gut a ton of the mids though. So I guess I will keep it, since I have now heard a positive on it.

Thanks

I don't know--it sounds good to me. The drummer does seem to get a little bored in the second verse and throws in a couple of things that vary from the main groove in a distracting way, but it goes by in a flash and on a second listen I might not even mind.

A little too much delay on the vox for me.

I like the song for the most part. I don't like how the drums are off to the left. I think the distortion tones are wrong for this song as well (besides the little ascending thing in the chorus, that's nice. Maybe pan that a little more out of the center so it's not in the way of the vox.) . If I were you, I'd just take the heavier stuff out completely. Bass could be little fatter maybe. Vocals are nice and clear.
drums down the center please Smile

with very minimal effort, this song will work well.
