What are you mixing on? Are you a DAW user?

I'm recording into a PC. I'm using a Presonus Firebox audio interface and recording into Sonar 6.
The drum tracks are recorded on to a Fostex VF16ex 16 track because I have to go to another space to record drums. I then export wav. files from the Fostex and put them into Sonar.

Is that your space? That space really sounds like it needs ac treatment. A good verb would help a lot too IMO after you treat the space.

Hi evt,
I'm hearing some timing issues on the first track 'no,no,no'. I can't tell if it's because you have some delay on the kick and snare, or if it was played that way. I feel like the lead vocal could come down a little, and would probably favor the acoustic mic over the direct signal, as the guitar sounds like it's recorded direct, which may even be what you're going for. I also feel like the electric guitar is a bit 'mushy' with clean electrics I like to compress them A LOT with a fast-ish attack to make them feel more 'confident'. I REALLY like the organ sound i'm hearing in this track and would love to have it more up front, i think it would make the chorus a bit more exciting.

I think everything fits well into it's own sonic space. Good job with that. The main thing i notice with your mixes/arrangements is that I think you have well recorded parts that could be mixed more dynamically. By that I mean I would like to see more contrast between your verses and choruses. Perhaps bringing up keys, or guitars, introducing a different vocal texture, or background vocals could do the trick.

I think your songs have a fun, almost child-like enthusiasm, and I feel like i'm experiencing things for the first time when i listen to them. I hope you take that as a compliment.

With Corazon, I feel like that electric guitar could take up a little more space. Again, i would compress with a quick attack to fatten it up a bit. I think you've done a better job with the arrangement on this one. I love the string part in the verse. I really think you're a strong engineer, and can't offer too much there.
Just keep writing, and arranging, and try to write choruses that people will remember.

Overall good job, I think sonically everything is very appropriate for the style.

I get that same vibe Smile

The toms(not sure what they are) after the chorus No No No, Kind of pulled me to the right as I was listening. Have you thought about alternating the panning, they are hard Right on my system.

I really liked the feel of both songs.

I LOVE no,no,no Smile So fun! Love the vocal melody and voice. I might take some of the slap back off the drums and find some more space for the vocals.

nice!
