Man Pinnacle just bought them, what a year ago? I'm hoping this is a good thing...maybe now I'll get a drum map for the DTXtreme's. Wink

Wonder if this is in response to Sony picking up Sonic Foundry?

I'm a Vegas/Sound Forge guy myself, and I see Sony taking the only decent multi-track product they've got and aiming it directly at the video market. The audio upgrades in Vegas are afterthoughts...

What you've just typed is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I never understood why Pinnacle bought Steinberg in the first place.
Yamaha makes sense, they don't have a strong software sequencer-recorder line and the support for Yamaha products could be better in Steinberg’s products

Good point.

I could go for a 16 ch. O1X control surface with Focusrite pre's. via firewire into SX. Wink

Yamaha has deep pockets, this could be very good for development and integration with some cool products, controllers mixers etc.

I use Nuendo 2 and love it.

I just hope Yamaha doesn't try to make the products into something they're not.

"Buy the other guy"......... man its all over the place!!!!!!! I work at a music store, and its always about whos "acquiring" who now.

My bud who has a studio across town, (real nice studio, like one in a mag pic) hehe, told me just last night that Roland owns almost half of Cakewalk... he has been a Cake head longer than me, and he may be right!! I had never known/read anything on that before though, so it was a trip to hear. It makes sense though, if there is a release of some monster package thingy in the future.

Lets not forget, that Yammy was in the forefront at one time in the PC stuff. I had 2 friends that had the dsp Factory setup.
