This looks interesting.
Noise specs appear a little high for a modern mic.

It does indeed.

Now I'm sorry I bought a V67G. It looks like they have worked on the circuitry, possibly as a result of hearing how frequently people have been reworking the innards of the V67G (and the 2001 and a handful of other models).

Do you mean S/N ratio? If so it seems only slightly higher than the V69me...I guess I am just curious..it's all Japanese to me... Slap

I must admit I am intrigued...for $150 I could get 2 of the 67i's......could one opine that since the 67g is a generally suggested mic, that the 67i being an improved version would be better??

Was thinking it would be nice to have a stereo set up..

The idea of 'one bright side, one darker/colored' side is certainly intriguing, as is the idea of combining 'let's do something different' with 'inexpensively emulating classic sounds'...

KT, the V69 is a bit high but tube mics are typically a tad higher. For what they brng to the table it may be worth it.....may be.

Still, it doesn't have to be that way.
The V69 is 22 db.
The 22 27 is 12 db
The Rode K2 is 10 db

Solid state mics
V67i is 20db
Baby Bottle an amaxing 5 db.

Yes, some of the older mics had noise specs arond there, but that was hidden by tape noise.
Some really small diaphragms (1/4 inch measurment mics) are about 20 db.

So, it's not thje be all, end all.....but I do believe is says something about attention to detail these days.
