I used the Extreme Isolation Headphones (HP's) for the first time in the weekend. I was mixing sound for a band at a gig, around 1000 people and I was about 18 metres from the stage.

The most amazing thing about these HP's is being able to hear your mix or solo without interference from the PA sound delayed through the air. It was much easier to hear reverb and delay effects in the mix and hear the attack and sustain on instruments you solo-ed. For this reason alone I highly recommend them to live sound engineers.

Initially I thought the HP's sounded a bit dull compared to the Sony's I had to compare them with, but by the end of the night, I realized they were just "flatter" and probably presented a more realistic impression of what was actually leaving the front of house console. The bass is nice and extended and I had no problem discerning the low bass guitar open E string.

A great product.

I got a pair of Extreme Isolation Headphones last week mostly because of the reviews I've read in the newsgroups. I work in a small room and needed something to cut out the noise. The phones are great! At first they were a little tight but I bent the center band a little and now they fit perfect. The drummer in my band tried them and he liked them and has ordered a pair too.

I wanted to clear up something that people are asking us about.
The headphones are made in St. Louis,MO.USA not in Switzerland. We have our earcups manufactured in Switzerland and it says "Made in Switzerland" on the bottom of the ear cup. Anyone would think that when they see them.

I have been making Extreme Isolation Headphones ( without the name on them ) since 1984 for myself and a few close friends in Studio City,CA. and LA studios and in St. Louis, MO.

It took many years of having studio and stage musicians asking me where they could get a set before I realized what a great tool these headphones were for the music industry musicians and engineers.

I could not believe that nothing like this was on the market.

After seeing a few brands surface on the market in the mid 90's and going "OH MY GOD!" "I waited too long". I tried the others out and realized that they were not up to performing like Extreme Isolation does.

It still took a long time to get some help to get them to market.
You all know when a musician says," heah, can you invest in my headphones or give me a loan?"

They look at you like??????? Someone finnaly got excited about them and here we are!

I will keep finding ways to improve on the product but we are very pleased with the overall response we have received.
The design and thought process to refine the headphones to where they are now came from the many comments and suggestions from experienced musicians like yourselves. It seemed they had tried some of the others out there too.
