I use a central station with the remote option. I think the remote is extremely handy, I'd definately recommend getting it.
I thought the mackie big knob took up too much desk real estate for what it is, though I did appreciate the fine tuning that such a knob offers and the nice feel, it really didn't have to be quite that big. I'm a little sketched about mackie build quality these days since every item I have by them (hr824s, 1604vlz) has a shoddy connection where the power chord plugs in, still useable, but disconcerting if you bump the wire. I've never had any problem with my central station. The converters are good, meters are great, and I think the sound quality is very slightly more open than the mackie. - Andrew |
