I heard about this a while back...I don't know, it sounds a little like a stunningly bad idea.

Digital microphone? Really just means "mic with preamp and A/D built in, no? And probably all the filters done in the digital domain?

I guess that gives them more control over the end result sound, right? But...this is something I hate to see:
