Bump,
Dan did you ever run this one through a review process? Being that it is probably the nicest mic in my shoe box (don't have enough to qualify as a mic closet) I am just curious how it compares. A man is no fool who gives up that which he can not keep to gain that which he can not lose. |

Nicest in the shoebox ehh... what else is in there? I wouldn't mind hearing your review Scoot.

Keller, Unforutnately my review would read like this; "Picked this up on ebay for $300 with 2 mic case and a shockmount. Plugged it in and it works. Compared to my MXL V-67M it seems more open, detailed and present. The different patterns will come in handy no doubt." Unfortunately most of my initial recording has been DI'd due to the home environment, a wife, kids, cats and dogs to contend with. I don't sing but hope to have some vocalists in eventually and I will be reamping some guitar and recording some acoustic guitar and hand percussion (the drum kit so far is drum machine or PC). As far as my mic shoe box (several large steps below a mic closet or mic locker) it includes an SM-57, Senheiser e-6093 Silver, Shure Prologue (cheap 1st mic for my 4 track), the MXL V-67M, 2 Octava MK-012A's and a cheap stereo condensor that was designed to plug into a VCR. Might be cool for a Lo-Fi effect but I have not used it. My ears don't have the experience or sensitivity to really judge anything and my stuffs in our untreated bedroom so most of my reviews would not be worthy of much. That is why I was hoping to hear from DOT on how what I had stacked up to the others but any other skilled AE's are welcome to jump in. Thanks for the info Kaapo.
When I get aroudn to recording my acoustic guitar I was planning on using the two mic technique with an SDC pointed from the neck at the 12th fret and the ADK TL for the larger diapghram either over the shoulder or from the bridge toward the sound hole. Which pattern would typically work best in this application? I was thinking Omni to get a little ambience in the track but I will be recording in an untreated bedroom so I may want cardiod after all LOL.
