The latest Sony Soundforge is Version 9
Greatest factor is that it *does* multitracking, not used yet, but it seems a great leap forward.

"Multitracking"?...I know it supports multichannel audio (as in surround)...but multitracking in SoundForge?

Multitrack is not the same as "multichannel" which is what Sound Forge 9 now features. There's a thread in the Sound Forge forum that should clear up any confusion one might have about this. That being said, SF9 is pretty buggy (quite typical of all Sony's initial new version releases) and unless you know for sure that you want this app, I suggest waiting for at least the first update before giving it a close evaluation.
