I am using Ozone3 and soundforge. When I use the dither function on Ozone, it doesn't change the bit depth on soundforge. Why doesn't soundforge recognise this?
When starting from a 24bit 96k master, in what order do you resample, dither, and convert to mp3? Is it necessary to dither and resample if you are converting to mp3, or should you convert to mp3 from CD quality? I would appreciate any pointers on this subject. Thanks |

Well you want to get to cd specs first.(44.1 16 bit) for obvious reasons. Most MP3 encoders expect that in either wav or aiff format. honestly, I prefer the MP3 encoder in Itunes to the one I hd to buy for my Pro Tools HD rig. One not....MySpace has their own streaming protocol that sounds like Open Ass. you might want a specific master for that, with a touch less level and a high pass set around 60 hz. I haven't found a way to get even MP3 quality through MySpace, but the level and low cut help a bit.
