I work at a studio that uses Sony CD Architect to sequence all of the CDs that it releases. I have found that I don't dig a few things about it, and I was wondering what other people use to sequence their CDs.
I have seen Samplitude but I thought it was just a DAW. Is there a separate section of the program used to master? Are there any mastering capabilities on the demo?
Ahhh, I was wondering if this would come up. What is RedBook? I have also heard of an OrangeBook. I guess its a standard of some sort? Do you know of a good place I can read about it?
When you say sequence all of the CDs, what do you mean by that? I have CD Architect and Wavelab but use them little due to using my VS2480DVD for most of my stuff. I use CD Arch to line up songs and burn to disc and Wavelab with plug-ins to do some mastering on my VS stereo .wav files recorded in Wavelab via RPC-1 and R-Bus from VS. Sequence CDs? Thanks, Frank.
We use CDA to take mixed wav files to order them in the proper way, precisely control the timing and fades between songs, and digital mastering with plugins. Mostly its level matching with an L2 and EQ matching with a frequency response matching plugin.
I started this topic because the only other CD squencing software that I have ever seen anyone use besides consumer level stuff has been Pyramix (and that program is a little much for our purposes in a LOT of ways). I dont like CDA because it seems pretty bugy to me and I was desiring something with a bit more functionality and stability.
By the way, thanks Deepman... I totally should have thought of consulting Wikipedia before I asked a question.
Frankabq, is Wavelab similar to Sound Forge in functionality?
