hey, i'm new to this forum (and relatively new to the mastering world)... we're upgrading from sonic solutions to either soundblade or pyramix. i've heard some nasty things about the plugins in soundblade (which we probably wont use anyway), but things like these are always good to know. any takes? what is everyone else in mastering using these days?

I know you posted this a while ago, but I just wanted to kick in that I have loving Samplitude Pro for mastering. It is definitely one of the best kept secrets around.

If you have any type of recording software, you should be able to crossgrade for about $600.00.

You can find the US distributor at www.orangehillaudio.com

I second Sam for mastering. There are a couple of world renown mastering engineers on the Sam forum that are useing Sam.

I have been using Pyramix for a couple of years here and love it. It's probably a steeper learning curve than Sam/Seq though. All 3 are fine apps for mastering.
